Alocasia brisbanensis

For a while I thought it was A.californica. It looks just like A. californica I saw elsewhere, and I found it wild growing in a garden of a friend in California, but it must have migrated here from its native Eastern Australia. It has been identified by Dr. Alistar Hay.
Another photo of the same plant, a couple months later. It definitely does not want to grow above 3 ft tall.
In the spring of 1998, it started flowering, which should make it possible to finally ID the plant. The inflorescence lasted for about two weeks and had no discernible scent.
Here's the closeup of the flowers....
... and the general habit of the plant. It is about three feet tall, and spreads to about 4 feet across.
